Capitol brings info drive on splitting Palawan into 3 in Cuyo town

The Palawan Capitol has brought its information drive about the law that seeks to divide the province into three in Cuto town.

“Umabot sa apat na libong mga residente ng munisipyo ng Cuyo ang nabahaginan na kaalaman hinggil sa RA 11259 o ang pagtatatag ng tatlong probinsiya ng Palawan,” said the Capitol.

Residents from 16 barangays responded positively to the proposal as plebescite nears.

The barangays are Cabigsing, Caponayan, Lagaoriao, Tucadan, Maringian, Catadman, Tenga-Tenga, Bangcal, Lungsod, Balading, Funda, Caburian, Igabas, San Carlos, Pawa and Suba.

“Ang information drive ay patuloy na isinasagawa ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan kaugnay ng nalalapit na plebisito na isasagawa sa ika-11 ng Mayo, taong kasalukuyan kung saan pinal na magdedesisyon ang mga Palaweno kaugnay sa isinusulong na batas,” said the Capitol.

The Palawan province’ Commission on Elections continues its preparations for the plebescite in connection with the law which seeks the division of the province in three.

The Comelec said latest data show there are 490, 639 registered voters so far.
