Romblon Gov. Otik Riano has sought to assure his constituents that the province is doing its best to keep tabs on Chinese tourists who visited the province.
The provincial government has also instituted measures to prevent the spread of the potentially fatal novel coronavirus, Riano said in a Facebook post.
According to him, local health officials have checked on the condition of four Chinese national who came to the province.
They showed no symptoms of the virus, but they have to be quarantined, he said.
A quarantine facility is available at the San Andres Municipal Hospital, he added.
The governor said more meetings with concerned officials would be held to map out a responsive plan of action.
Romblon is not sleeping on this virus!
Ederlina Aguirre, Vice Chair ng nCoV Special Committee in coordination with PDOHO Dra.
May we always remain united,” Riano posted.
