Marinduque Rep. Velasco celebrates birthday with fund raising drive for Mindanao quake victims


Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco celebrated his birthday with a ride for a cause that sought to raise funds for the victims of series of earthquake in Mindanao.

The event was dubbed as “LAV ko mag ride.”

Velasco and some 100 riders, including presidential daughter Davao Mayor Sara Duterte and Senator Bato dela Rosa, hit the road at exactly 6:30 a.m. from the Petron Station at the South Luzon Expressway in San Pedro, Laguna.

Velasco and Duterte also spearheaded a gift-giving activity in Boac before the riders attended the Love LAV Love Birthday Concert at the Marinduque Convention Center.

Velasco also extended his gratitude to all the people who came and participated for the said good cause.

“I’d like to thank all those who joined me in this ride. Your participation will go a long way to ease the suffering of the victims of the earthquake in Mindanao,” Velasco was quoted as saying.

“This is a special day for me, and this fund raiser is my way of giving back my blessings to our brothers and sisters in Mindanao,” Velasco added.
