Naga City Mayor Legacion backs VP Leni’s decision to lead drug war campaign
Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion has thrown his full support to the decision of Vice President Leni Robredo to lead the administration’s drug war.
Robredo made the announcement yesterday that she accepts her appointment to co-chair the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal drugs.
Robredo said in a press briefing yesterday that she’s ready to be part of the administration again and provide help for the success of the campaign against illegal drugs.
“Tinatanong nila kung handa ba ako, ang tanong ko handa na ba kayo para sa akin, Mr. President?” Robredo said.
Robredo also said that her position and principles will remain the same and that she’ll be critical to the drug war.
“Alam ng Pangulo kung ano ang posisyon ko sa drug war: tutol ako sa pagpatay ng mga inosente, kontra ako sa pang-aabuso ng mga opisyal. Alam niya ang aking mga puna. Alam niya ang mga balak kong ayusin,” she said.
In her hometown, Robredo finds ally with Mayor Legacion.
“Being an optimist, I pray that our Vice President will succeed in the new challenge she just accepted! You have our full support VP Leni Gerona Robredo,” said Legacion.
Meanwhile, Camarines Sur Rep. Gabriel Bordado, Jr. also backed the decision of the Vice President.
“Although most of us didn’t expect VP Leni’s decision, we should ALL support her to the hilt. GOD bless VP Leni,” said Bordado.
