There are things more important than aesthetics, and for Mamburao Councilor Jenny Villar, it’s spreading awareness about breast cancer.
Villar shaved her head to promote breast cancer awareness month, which is being observed this October.
She talked about her decision on Facebook and said this is the best way she could show support.
She called on girls and women to routinely examine their breasts so that they could arrest the disease early should they have it.
Early detection could save their lives, she said.
Villar’s long locks did not go to waste as well, as she donated these to Ateneo-Kythe, which will turn these into wigs for medical patients.
This is the third time she has donated her hair.
She is kalbo for a cause, and looks good promoting it!
“I SHAVED MY HEAD!
Hi! So I’m making this post to spread awareness. I’m not usually the type to post these things pero this is something close to my heart ❤️
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I have family members who have cancer and I want to spread awareness about it and show my support through shaving my head! ??
Girls! Get checked! Or routinely examine your breasts! Examine it at least once a month, puwede sa start ng buwan o kaya sa end ng month para madali alalahanin.
It’s totally fine to examine your breasts and there’s no disadvantages if you do, only advantages! When you examine your breasts, you’re sure na there’s no lump sa breasts mo and if you notice na may lump, you can immediately have it checked with your Doctor. ?⚕️ Early detection is important!
I shaved my head for the second time. ?♀️
“What happened to the hair? Sayang naman!” some say pero hindi po siya sayang.
I donated the hair to Ateneo-Kythe! They collect hair donations to create medical wigs for any patient in need. This is my third time donating. ❤️
You can donate too! ?
