Mayor Legacion allocates P1.5M for digital innovation fund
Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion has announced the allocation of P1.5 as a digital innovation fund.
The said fund aims to support start up projects that can provide digital solutions to various areas of governance.
“In yesterday’s launching of Naga City Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) at JMRC I announced the setting up of P1.5 million Digital Innovation Fund in support of projects of start-ups and graduating students who will be able to provide digital solutions to some concerns, challenges or problems facing the city in various areas of governance,” Mayor Legacion said
“Guys, take on the challenge and reap financial rewards in the process,” he added
The said Naga City Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) is situated at the Jesse M. Robredo Coliseum. The blessing and opening ceremonies was held yesterday morning.
“DIH aims to provide facilities, business services, and mentoring to budding technology enterprises even students who intend to fully-develop and commercialize their digital senior projects once they graduate so that they can grow. The hub will also assist the hundreds of online workers currently based in the city,” the Naga City government said
Mayor Legacion and DICT Luzon Cluster 3 Regional Director Cheryl Ortega also led the ribbon cutting ceremony and signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) of Free Public WiFi for all and Tech4Ed Center.
Also Present were Naga City Startup Representative and NUECA CEO, Mr. Magno Edilberto Conag III, Online Bicolano Workers President and Naga City Guide Content Creator, Mr. Bryden Elizan, as well as other city councilors.
