Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has spearheaded the Provincial Development Council meeting last Monday.
Present during the meeting were local government executives and department heads to approve the budget proposals of the plans, projects and activities (PPAs) in 2020 onwards.
Among the PPAs whose financial proposal was presented include the Enhanced Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) in 2019 to 2027, Provincial Development and Investment Program in 2020 to 2025, the Annual Investment Program in 2020, and the Albay Tourism Development Plan in 2020 to 2026.
“The meeting also approved budget proposal of the various plans required under the Local Budget Memorandum No. 78, or the 2020 Internal Revenue Allotment Share of the Local Government Units,” the Albay provincial government said.
“Some of them include the Gender and Development Plan, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan, Provincial Climate Change Action Plan, Peace and Order Plan, Provincial Nutrition Plan and the Annual Cultural Development Plan,” it added.
Governor Bichara emphasized that his administration highly prioritizes health and agriculture as he reiterated that investments in the province will improve health facilities.
Bichara likewise suggested the opening more roads to cater to the needs of the farmers.
The governor noted that a road network map could be produced to determine what areas should be given priority considering the limited resources to implement such projects.
“How can we help the farmers? To reduce the cost of production by reducing their cost in transportation,” Bichara was quoted as saying.
