Palawan farmers get shot in the arm with Capitol’s PGP Cares program

The Palawan Provincial Agriculture Office, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, continues to provide help to farmers through its PGP Cares program.

“Nakapaloob sa programa ang pamamahagi ng mga seeds sa mga magsasaka sa pangangasiwa ng Provincial Agriculture Office katuwang ang Department of Agriculture,” said the province.

A total of 130 rice farmers and 47 corn farmers stand as beneficiaries of the rice and corn production program under PGP Cares.

“Nakapagbigay na po kami ng request and we have already identified yung mga farmer beneficiaries from southern and northern part of Palawan, composed of rice and corn producers” , OIC-Provincial Agriculture Office Dr. Romy Cabungcal said.

Under the program, rice seeds are given farmers which they will pay after the harvest season.

“So ang mangyayari nito, we will be complementing the project of the Department of Agriculture. Nakipag-usap na ako sa DA na ipo-provide nila ang mga seeds”, said Dr. Cabungcal.

Under the program, the farmers will pay the seeds without interest.
