Palawan sees windfall from ASEAN, BIMP-EAGA programs

The Palawan provincial government said that the province is expected to receive windfall from the projects of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gayundin ang Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines – East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).
Last August 22, the ASEAN Awareness Forum was held at the Princesa Garden Island Resort in Puerto Princesa led by the Department of Foreign Affairs.
“Sa pangunguna ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ay aktibong dumalo ang mga kinatawan mula sa iba’t-ibang tanggapan ng pamahalaan sa lungsod at lalawigan,” the province said.
“Dumalo rin ang mga kinatawan mula sa pribadong sektor at maging ang ilang pamantasan sa lalawigan,” it added.
DFA Undersecretary Ernesto C. Abella spearheaded the said forum where he laid down the benefits that the Filipinos can get from the ASEAN.
“Isa na rito ang pagkakaroon ng malakas na ugnayan at pagkakaisa sa mga bansang nasa ASEAN,” the province said.
“Ipinaalam rin ng DFA ang mahalagang papel ng ASEAN para sa Pilipinas, isa dito ang makalikha ng isang merkado at batayang produksyon na matatag, maunlad at kayang makipagsabayan sa ibang nasyon,” it added.
