Albay Gov. Bichara tells LDRRMC to be on heightened alert amid storm Ineng

Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has ordered all local disaster risk reduction and Risk management offices to be “on heightened alert” due to Tropical Storm Ineng.

Bichara issued an advisory early this morning suspending the classes in all levels in public and private schools in the province as moderate to occasional heavy rains are expected in Bicol Region.

The Governor also said that there should no crossing the swelling rivers and advised fishermen to avoid fishing in rough seas.

“LDRRMCs to monitor vulnerable areas prone to flash flood, floods debris flows and landslides,” Bichara said.

“All LDRRMCs should be on heightened alert in their area of jurisdictions and to monitor status of heavy rains through the PAGASA Legazpi and local broadcast media until the weather situation normalizes,” the order added.

Governor Bichara sits as the chairman of Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Council.
