CamSur farmers undergo training on agricultural practices on gabi production
Camarines Sur farmers have undergone a two-day training on good agricultural practices on gabi production.
Governor Miguel Villafuerte said that the training was sponsored by the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office V in partnership with Office of the Provincial Agriculturists.
The training was held last August 14 to 15.
“The training focused on highlighting the proper cultivation of gabi, locally known as “katnga” to our farmers and encourage them to plant more gabi as it may grow literally everywhere in moist environments,” said Governor Villafuerte.
Villafuerte said that his administration continues to provide opportunities to the CamSur residents in order to be well-skilled and well-equipped
“The Provincial Government of Camsur continuously provide trainings and sponsor programs that give our farmers advantages and opportunities,” said Villafuerte.
One of the attendees Racquel Billanueva, a farmer from Milaor said she now plans to convert her rice field into a “Katngaan”.
“[A]fter the training, I was convinced to be a Gabi producer now. I can see the potential of this indigenous plant,” she was quoted as saying.
