Tagaan! Albay Rep. Joey Salceda says provl bus ban to hurt passengers’ pockets
As if the provincial bus ban won’t already cause passengers much inconvenience, it will hurt their pockets as well, according to Albay Rep. Joey Salceda.
Salceda, in a Facebook post, said those that would fail to catch a Grab Bus at the final stop in Sta. Rosa, Laguna would have an alternative, but a costly one.
Go Lag provide a service, but with a flag down rate of P40. With price surges, the fare could go as high as P572 to Cubao.
The bus from Albay is not cheap, so nobody needs the added expense.
Salceda did the math and he sure is angry!
“For those who fail to catch a Grab Bus, this is your option in Sta. Rosa. Look at their rates.Go Lag’s flag down rate is at Php 40. They’ll charge Php 14 per kilometer and Php 2 per minute, with price surges capped at 1.5 times the normal rate. Go Lag will start accepting riders for their mobile app starting May 12 and will accept TNVS (i.e. drivers) starting May 14. So, kasi 38 kms ang Sta. Rosa, uyyy – P40 + P14x37 = voila: P572. Eh sobra sa kalahati ng ibabayad mo yan from Polangui to Cubao na P1,100/passenger for 530kms. DO THE MATH!!!,” Salceda posted.
