Ako Bicol Rep. Garbin tells police to intensify campaign vs jueteng amid PCSO games stoppage
Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin has called on the police to strengthen its anti- jueteng driv following the stoppage of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s betting games.
Garbin said that people will now be lured by the jueteng operations now that legal betting games are not suspended.
“With the stoppage of all PCSO betting games, the illegal jueteng operations will be swamped with bets from the millions of “common tao,” said Garbin.
“I therefore appeal to the Philippine National Police to boost their anti-jueteng operations now because more jueteng money means more funds for crime lords, warlords, smugglers, drug lords, and their protectors,” he added.
Garbin said that members of Congress will wait for the official briefing by the key officials of the executive branch regarding the said stopppage of PCSO games.
The Ako Bicol said that they need to hear the details of the order considering the massive income generated by the office.
He also said that Congress must know how will the PCSO to make up for the expected losses due to the said order of the president.
