The Calapan City Sangguniang Panglungsod joined the Regional Maritime Unit 4B in its coastal clean-up drive to preserve Marine Protected Areas.

Calapan City Vice Mayor Gil G. Ramirez together with the SP members took part in the said clean-up drive held at the Harka Piloto Marine Sanctuary, Barangay Lazareto last Tuesday.

“Maaga pa lamang ay nasa lugar na ng aktibidad si Vice Mayor Gil dahil ayon sa kanya ay gusto niya ang ganitong gawain sapagkat nasa puso niya ang pagiging isang makakalikasan,” the Sangguniang Panglungsod said.

Vice Mayor Ramirez said that the cleanup drive is part of the Police Community Relation Month, which is an initiative of the Regional Maritime Unit 4B.

Ramirez felt elated as members of the SP took part in the said coastal cleanup activity.

Bukod pa dito ang mga malalagong damo,” said the SP.

Present during the drive were Maritime group, Sangguniang Panlungsod Officials, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP, DENR, BFAR, SALUMAFCO, youth groups, KC 7189, among others.
