Prevention is better than cure! Gov. Bichara warns Albayanos amid rising dengue cases

Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara tol his constituents that prevention is better than cure amid rising dengue cases.

Just yesterday, Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III declared Dengue Alert Status in selected regions in the country amid rapidly increasing number of cases observed in the Philippines.

“My Dear Albayanos, keep in mind that prevention is always better than cure,” the Governor said.

Bichara said that the Department of Health (DOH) will give logistical support to Regions IVB, VI, VII and X “where the epidemic threshold have exceeded.”

Bichara said that Albayanos are encouraged to do the 4S against Dengue:

1) Search and destroy mosquito-breeding sites
2) Self-protection measures
3) Seek early consultation
4) Support fogging for impending outbreaks

Meanwhile, Bichara assured Albayanos that measures against dengue are in place in the province.

“No need to worry in Albay. Measures were already initiated and implemented through our Provincial Health Office (PHO), conducted several meetings and has intensified cleanup drive and monitoring when Albay was still then declared as Code White (early stage). We are continuously monitoring this situation and we’re ready to provide necessary interventions,” the Governor noted.
