Oriental Mindoro Capitol execs, PHILVOLCS officials hold coordination meeting

Officials from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) met with the Oriental Mindoro Capitol executives to discuss the World Tsunami Awareness Day this November.

The PHILVOLCS officials met with Provincial Administrator Dr. Hubbert Christoper A. Dolor yesterday, July 9, for the said activity.

“Kaugnay nito, sa isinagawang pagpupulong nabuo ang ilan lamang sa mga nakatakdang mahahalagang gagawin,” the Oriental Mindoro Capitol said.

“Pangunahin dito ang planong Tsunami Forum na dadaluhan ng lahat ng opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan at mga indibidwal na nagbabalangkas ng mga polisiya sa disaster preparedness plan ng lalawigan,” it added.

Meanwhile, the said event is also eyed to be held alongside the 25th anniversary of the 7.1 magnitude Mindoro Earthquake.

“Samantala, sa inisyal na plano, magiging bahagi rin ng programa ng 69th Founding Anniversary ang photo exhibit at display ng Disaster Equipments ng Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office’s ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan, Pamahalaang Lungsod at mga Pamahalaang Bayan,” said the province.

Aside from PA Hubbert, also present during the meeting were officials from the City DRRMO as well as other individual stakeholders.
