Life outside politics! Ex-Naga City Mayor Bongat enjoys life as private citizen
Former Naga City Mayor John Bongat is now enjoying the perks of living as a private citizen after 18 long years in public service.
Bongat just came back yesterday from his Canada trip for a speaking engagement. He described his last day as a “sentimental day.”
“Whether it’s temporary or for good is something I leave to God. See you around, and thank you again for the love and care, from my family to yours,” said Bongat.
Meanwhile, on his first day as a private citizen he held a “tete-a-tete” with his law school classmate Prof. Antonio La Viňa,l.
“Interesting Life After Politics. TETE-A-TETE ATM WITH MY UP LAW classmate, Bar 3rd Placer and Pre-Law schoolmate in Ateneo de Manila, Prof. Antonio La Viňa, exploring possibilities of an impending career for me beyond politics,” Bongat said.
“An educator, writer and environment expert, Tony had served as Dean of the Ateneo School of Govt, as Executive Director of the Manila Observatory, and as DENR Undersecretary, aside from being also busy ever since with lucrative national and international consultancies. Thanks for your time, Tony, and the treat! Highly appreciate it,” added the former mayor.
