Bagong simula! Calapan City elected officials formally take oath of office

The elected officials of Calapan City have formally taken their oath of office yesterday led by Mayor Arnan Panaligan and Vice Mayor Gil Ramirez yesterday.

A mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Renato L. Malbog, SVD, Rev. Fr. CrisA. Cordero, Rev. Fr. Salvador L. Condrado, SVD and Rev. Fr. Andres Isagani S. Lolo was held first before the formal event.

Also present during the oath taking were the ten councilors Mary Pauline Mylene Arias- de Jesus, Charles O. Pansoy, Rafael E. Panaligan Jr., Genie R. Fortu, Farra Fay C. Ilano, Jocelyn U. Neria, Ronalee R. Leachon, Roberto L. Concepcion, Rius Anthony C. Agua and Marian Teresa G. Tagupa.

The public officials took their oath before Municipal Trial Court Judge Cyrus Goco.

“Sa mensahe ni Vice Mayor Gil, buong puso niyang pinasalamatan ang may 48, 313 na bomoto sa kanya na nagbigay umano ng halos 45,000 na kalamangan ng pagtitiwala sa kanya,” the Sangguniang Panlalawigan said.

“Binigyang diin pa ni Vice Gil, na noong unang termino niya bilang Bise Alkalde ay ang tanging baon niya ay prinsipyo, programa at paninindigan at sa pagkakataong ito aniya ay nadagdagan pa ang taon ng kanyang pamumuno sa Sangguniang panlungsod subalit andoon pa rin ang prinsipyo, programa, paninindigan at nadagdagan pa ng karanasan,” it added.

The Vice Mayor also quoted Mayor Panaligan as saying “The road to development or progress is always under construction,” while noting that a lot of things need to work on.

Ramirez noted the the city government need traffic and transportation, flooding as well as the sources of funds for the growing basic services needs of Calapan.

Ramirez also expresses gratitude to the councilors Atty. Lorybelle Tanyag-Panaligan, Eric Apasan, Charleston Valencia and Boy Flores, as well as former ABC Pres. Hector Africa for serving the city during the 7th SP.
