Bongat welcomes new Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion
Outgoing Naga City Mayor John Bongat has welcomed the new local chief executive of the city, Nelson Legacion.
Bongat, who is still in Canada, said that technically, today is his last day in office that he occupied for 9 years.
Bongat served as Mayor of Naga since 2010. He replaced former mayor and Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.
“TECHNICALLY, it’s my last working day today, a Friday. Let’s all welcome our new father of the city, Mayor Nelson Legacion, and the rest of our city officials as they assume their new posts noon of June 30, 2019,” Bongat said.
“Let us pray that God and our Ina will guide them always, as we usher in a new chapter in our city’s history,” he added.
Bongat flew to Canada to present today “Migration and Development: The Naga City Experience.”
He will speak before a world audience attending the International Metropolis Conference on Migration.
