Former rebels in Palawan gets financial aid from DILG, Capitol

Seven rebel returnees in Palawan have received a financial aid through the Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the national government.

The rebel returnees received P65,000 from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) last May 31 at thr Governor’s Conference Room of thr Capitol.

Present during the event were Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez, DILG Provincial Director Rey S. Maranan, Joint Task Force Peacock Deputy Commander Col. Edwin M. Amadar, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Abigail Ablaña, and Provincial Information Office-OIC Ceasar Sammy Magbanua.

The beneficiaries are also set to receive P25,000 aid from the provincial government of Palawan under the Local Social Integration Program (LSIP).

Governor Alvarez ensured the returnees that the Capitol will help them integrate with their community.

Meanwhile, PSWD Officer Ablaña said that the Provincial Capitol will also receive other benefits such as the free registration with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

“Kung sila ay mayroong mga hinaharap na mga problema or ‘yung family nila makaka-encounter ng problema in terms of hospitalization, medical needs, binibigyan pa natin sila ng karagdagang tulong-pinansyal,” said Ablaña.

“Mayroon na tayong na-hire na social workers who are assisting us right now doon sa monitoring ng assistance na provided to the former rebels and their families.
