Albay’s Magayon Festival ends with street parties, fireworks display
The month-long celebration of Magayon Festival ended with a bang — just like how it started.
After 31 days of fun events and activities, this year’s Magayon Festival culminated with street parade, a mesmerizing fireworks display, and more partying on the streets.
“The day started with the traditional Grand Santacruzan which made a again successful return this year. Still part of the Official Calendar of Events of Magayon Festival 2019, the parade of local beauties garbed in traditional Filipino dresses started at Vel-Amor Subdivision and culminated at the grounds of Peñaranda Park in front of St. Gregory the Great Cathedral,” the province said.
“The annual parade were participated in by the gorgeous and stunning ladies of Miss Daragang Magayon 2019 as Reyna Elena’s, Ms. Jashmin-Lyn Dimaculangan, the Miss Daragang Magayon 2019. Ms. Charlene Boholano the Ms. Albay, Jannel Mendee Calleja, the 1st runner up, Aurey Fae Balonzo, the 2nd runner up, and Joyce Anne Magpantay, the 3rd runner up. And other beautiful women who made it to the list of distinguished Reynas of the Santa Cruzan,” it added.
After the parade, the Albay sky was lit with fireworks, to the delight of thousands of people who trooped to the Magayon festival grounds to participate in the festivities.
“Many of whom also attended the concert held at the Food and drinks plaza in front of the Albay Capitol. The concert was headlined by famous recording band Imago,” said the province.
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara congratulated and acknowledged all the efforts of the people who worked hard to makes this year’s celebration a success.
The governor also promised that thr 20-year-old festival will become even more “Magayon” in the future.
