The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) reminded over 160 commercial establishments in El Nido and Coron to follow the easement rule provided under the law.

167 establishments in El Nido and Coron were handed with notice to vacate because of violation of Presidential Decree 705 or the Reformed Forestry Code of the Philippines and Presidential Decree 1067 or the Water Code of the Philippines.

75 establishments in El Nido has so far complied with the notice to vacate.

Regional Director Vicente B. Tuddao Jr.

During the interagency meeting on clean-up rehabilitation of El Nido and Coron last May 17, Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez has expressed support to the demolition.

“Governor Alvarez… magpapa-deliver ng mga trucks para sa demolition kaya nga po kapag ‘yan ay natuloy hinihingian po natin ng warning ang mga na-issuehan ng notice to vacate to please comply with the rule of the law.”

Meanwhile, the DENR told the establishments to just comply with the notice to vacate.

Regional Director Tuddao.
