The Iglesia Ni Cristo has thrown its support behind former Calatrava mayor Robert Fabella in his bid to become Romblon’s new governor.

The influential religious sect also endorsed Fabella’s running mate, incumbent provincial board member Felix Ylagan.

Fabella told the tabloid Abante that he was informed of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s decision during his visit to its district office in Odiongan.

He said he was thankful for the group’s support for his candidacy.

Fabella is running against incumbent Vice Governor Jose Riano, while Ylagan will be facing off with incumbent Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Arman Gutierrez.
