Albay holds Solo Parents’ Day as part of Magayon Festival celebration
The Albay province has celebrated the Solo Parents’ Day as part of the Magayon Festival 2019.
The event was spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and was participated by over a hundred solo parents coming from various LGUs in the province.
The event featured a ballroom dance competition, which showcased the “creativity, amazing performances and the inspiring talents of the participating solo parents.”
Representative of Municipality of Malilipot bagged the champioship while the municipality of Tabaco was named first runner up.
Dr. Eva Grageda, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, recognized the efforts of the solo parents who attended the said event.
“The event is just four of the five line-up events of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in line with the celebration of the Magayon Festival,” the province said.
The Magayon Festival is a month-long celebration showcasing the rich culture of Albay province. It is held annually in May.
