A temporary win! Albay Rep. Joey Salceda rejoices over suspension of provincial bus ban
Albay Rep. Joey Salceda is one of the probinsyanos who are happy over the the decision of the Metro Manila Development Authority to suspend its ban on provincial buses using EDSA.
Salceda described the decision as a temporary win and stressed that the cause of traffic along EDSA are private cars, and not provincial buses.
He scoffed at the earlier decision to shift the bus terminals to Sta. Rosa Laguna, describing it as “ignominy of the highest order.” He said it would make life miserable for commuters while adding more vehicles on EDSA.
It would also be bad for “borderline admin Senate candidates,” he added.
He blamed the MMDA for the loss of its former chair Francis Tolentino in the 2016 senatorial race, saying its dry run of a similar run back then made his ratings drop.
Looks like the suspension of the ban is a win, even for the MMDA!
“IT’S A TEMPORARY WIN
It’s private cars stupid! That strategy (shifting provincial buses to P2P, shifting EDSA terminals to Sta Rosa) is an ignominy of the highest order- it will add more vehicles to EDSA and add misery to provincial commuters. Worse, it will jeopardize borderline admin senate candidates. And for what? private profit. May isip naman sila, pero sana may puso.
MMDA – sinaktan nyo ang dating Chairman nyo- si Francis Tolentino. Nakapasok na sya as #11 with 35.7% nung March. Tignan nyo after nung duru-dry run nyo? Bumaba sya sa #17 with 22.8% nitong April,” Salceda posted.
