Ako Bicol boasts livelihood creation program for Bicolanos
Ako Bicol partylist has touted its accomplishment in creating livelihood for Bicolanos.
The partylist said that over 5,000 livelihood programs were created and have so far benefited Bicolanos.
“More than 5,000 livelihood programs were already made by Ako Bicol Party list and most of these programs were provided to the agricultural industry to promote the local business and livelihood of Bicolanos,” the partylist said.
The partylist said that it aims to reduce the poverty rates in “targeted areas” in Bicol region.
“Ako Bicol Party list made partnership in different government agencies such as DOLE to sponsor small scale businesses,” said the partylist.
“Each beneficiary received free raw materials and tools, and with this, the Bicolanos may no longer need to go to Manila and nearby region to work as they will be able to provide for their families without leaving them,” it added.
Meanwhile, Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin has led the mobilization to push for the approval of Universal Social Pension for senior citizens.
“Sa naturang bersyon, tatanggap ng P1000 ang bawat senior citizen na walang kasalukuyang pensyon, o kung mayroon man na mula sa GSIS, SSS, o PGMC ay hindi tataas sa P3,500,” the partylist said.
