Catanduanes Rep. Cesar V. Sarmiento has joined the call of other Bicolano solons to suspend the total provincial bus ban policy of MMDA along EDSA.

The solon said that commuters from Bicol, Visayas, and Mindanao will be affected by the said policy.

Rosa, Laguna,” said Sarmiento.

Under the new MMDA policy, provincial buses will end their trips at the Valenzuela Gateway Complex Integrated Terminal while those from the south will end their trips at the South Integrated Terminal in Sta. Rosa Laguna.

Sarmiento filed House Resolution 2357 early last month to suspend the said policy.

He also wrote a letter to the Department of Transportation and MMDA to reconsider the said policy, saying that the ban lacks consultation with the affected commuters.

“Kailangan matiyak kung ano talaga ang mas makakabuti para sa mas marami at ano talaga dapat ang ginagawa para maayos ang problema sa trapiko,” said the solon.

Meanwhile, a third hearing on the integrated terminals is slates on May 20.

Sarmiento chairs the House committee on transportation.
