Palawan Capitol prepares for DILG’s 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has conducted an orientation and mini-assessment regarding the preparation of the Palawan Capitol for the Seal of Good Local Governance.
The Regional Assessment Team of the DILG will hold the assessment and validation on April 24 and 25 for the 2019 SGLG.
Present during the orientation were members of the 2019 SGLG Committee and Technical Working Group of the provincial government.
It is composed of the Provincial Accounting Office, Budget Office, Treasurer’s Office, Planning and Development Office, PDRRMO, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Local Economic and Investment Office, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources, Provincial Tourism Office, Bids and Awards Committee, General Services Office, Engineering Office, Information Office, PADAP and Office of the Provincial Administrator.
“Pangunahing layunin ng DILG na iparating sa Committee at Technical Working Group ang kahalagahan ng SGLG; malaman ang paraan nang pagpapalakas ng criteria o ang 7 governance areas kabilang ang Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and Order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Protection at Tourism, Culture and the Arts; at ang paggawa ng action plan kaugnay nang implementasyon ng SGLG sa bawat Local Government Unit,” the Provincial government said.
During the meeting, the DILG also inspected the documents and checklist of each department that are needed for the validation.
In 2018, 263 Local Government Units in the country received Seal of Good Local Governance.
