Justin Batocabe thanks DOT for supporting Travel Bicolandia app
Atty. Justin Batocabe has expressed his gratitude to Tourism department for supporting the efforts made by her mother Gertie Duran-Batocabe to improve the tourism not just in Daraga but in Bicol Region.
DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat recently graced the launch of the Travel Bicolandia App last April 4.
The app is a ride-sharing app developed with the idea to “make Bicol destinations more accessible, affordable and enjoyable.”
“Thank you Department of Tourism for recognizing the efforts made by my mother Gertie Duran- Batocabe and Atty Pilo De Lumen to improve local tourism in Daraga and the entire Bicol region,” Justin, a nominee of Ako Bicol partylist, said.
According to Daraga mayoral bet Gertie Batocabe, the Travel Bicolandia was developed in Daraga by a Daragueño Atty Pilo De Lumen, which aims to “simplify Bicol tourism through an easy to-book tourist ride options with its 4 key services Point to Point Shared Rides, Group Tours, Exclusive Tours and Motorcycle & Bicycle Rental.”
Romulo-Puyat congratulated the people behind the mobile app.
“We rely on passionate, dedicated and creative startups and MSMEs to create products and technology that bring the tourism industry forward. As technology shapes our industry faster than we realize, your role in nation building and the tourism sector is significant,” the secretary said.
“I can’t help but compare the idea behind this—sharing our means of transportation with others so more people can enjoy the sights of Bicol—with one of the rationales behind the DOT’s crowd-sourced tourism campaign. It’s the spirit of “Bayanihan,” all of us pulling together to reach a collective goal,” Sec. Puyat added.
