Palawan gov’t, DOT inspect tourist enterprises in province’s southern area


The Palawan provincial government and the Department of Tourism have inspected the primary tourist enterprises in the southern part of the province.

The province said that sixty establishments such as accommodation establishments and travel agencies in Aborlan, Narra, Sofronio Española, Brooke’s Point, Quezon, Rizal and Bataraza were inspected.

The team inspected physical and documentary requirements ng of the said tourist enterprises.

Leizl Ogdamin from Provincial Tourism Promotions and Development Department (PTPDD) said that the PTEs need to comply first with a several documents and requirements in order to get ng accreditation from the DOT.

Some of the things that need to be fixed in southern Palawan were the lack of rest area, safety deposit box, rooms and ramps for the persons with disability (PWD).

“[Ilan pa sa mga tinitignan dito] ang kanilang compliance sa mga policies related to tourism katulad ng building code, solid waste management act, at environmental laws,” said Provincial Tourism Officer Maribel C. Buñi.

Buñi said that PTEs in northern Palawan will soon be inspected.
