Palawan gears up for this year’s Seal of Good Local Governance validation
The Palawan Provincial government has started its preparations for the assessment and validation by the Regional Assessment Team of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in connection with this year’s Seal of Good Local Governance.
Palawan’s 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Committee and Technical Working Group held a meeting last March 28 to discuss the matter.
The members tacked the components of the SGLG such as Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and Order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Protection and Tourism, Culture and the Arts.
“Base sa ulat ng SGLG technical working group, bukod sa pagsasaayos ng lahat ng dokumento na may kaugnayan sa SGLG, ilan sa mga pagtutuunan ng pansin ay ang pagsusuri sa mga Hospital Material Recovery Facility at waste disposal, pagsasaayos ng mga pasilidad sa Operation Center, paglalagay ng early warning devices/signages at paggamit ng cultural property,” the province said.
The committee has provided the various departments of the Capitol a checklist in order to ensure their compliance with the components of SGLG.
The said departments were Provincial Accounting Office, Provincial Budget Office, Provincial Treasurer’s Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, PDRRMO, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Local Economic and Investment Office, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources, Provincial Tourism Office, DepEd, PNP Provincial Office, among others.
“Sa pamamagitan nito ay madaling malalaman ng bawat departamento ang kanilang mga kinakailangang matugunan bago ang assessment,” the province said.
The assessment and validation will be held on April 25, 2019 to be led by OIC Assistant Regional Director Noel Bartolabac of DILG MIMAROPA and Inocencio Magallanes of HARIBON Palawan.
