Three more LGUs in Palawan get ‘drug free’ staus
Three more local government units in Palawan have been declared as “Drug Cleared Municipality.”
The towns of Quezon, Kalayaan at Linapacan joined drug cleared municipalities of Dumaran, Cuyo, Cagayancillo, Araceli, Magsaysay and Busuanga.
“Sa isinagawang Regional Oversight Committee Validation/Declaration of Drug Cleared Barangays and Municipalities na ginanap noong ika-26 ng Marso, taong kasalukuyan sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa, tatlong munisipyo sa lalawigan ng Palawan ang naidagdag sa listahan ng mga naideklarang drug cleared municipalities sa lalawigan ng Palawan,” the provincial government said.
Based on the data presented by Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Program (PADAP) to Governor Jose Alvarez, there are 104 drug cleared barangays out of 304 barangays in Palawan.
PDEA Regional Director Mario Da Ramos said that they expect MIMAROPA Region to be declared as the first drug-cleared region in the Philippines.
The Regional Oversight Committee Validation/Declaration of Drug Cleared Barangays and Municipalities is composed of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Palawan provincial government, Philippine National Police and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
