Vice President Leni Robredo has graced the General Assembly of Angat Buhay’s Omasenso sa Kabuhayan program for farmers in Metro Naga.
The Angat Buhay is the flagship anti-poverty program of the Office of the Vice President.
“Happy to be with our farmers in Metro Naga for the General Assembly of #AngatBuhay’s Omasenso sa Kabuhayan program,” the Vice President said.
“Since our launch last year, more and more of our local farmers have joined us, as we aim to help them develop their farming methods and adapt to the market’s demand,” she added.
Robredo said that the program has “a long way to go” but is still hopeful that the lives of the farmer beneficiaries will improve.
“Today, we inducted the core group and site working group members, a step towards making Omasenso more sustainable and forward-looking,” she said.
“We still have a long way to go from here, but we take heart in the willingness and perseverance of our farmers—and the generosity of institutional buyers who heeded our call to give our local farmers a chance and help them prosper, too.”
Robredo hopes that with the with the 8-step Clustering Approach they introduced, they will be able to continue uplifting the lives of farmers and create a better future for their families and their communities.
