Mayor John Bongat has personally handed the plaque of commendation to the students from Naga City for winning medals in a national taekwondo competition.
Bongat recognized the achievements of Emmanuel Christopher Austria, K Jarmen Kell G. Bonos, Baron Benedict Besmonte, Kenshin Rain G. Bonos from Naga College Foundation as well as another student from Ateneo de Naga University, Sandra Lerio.
The students were commended by the City Government of Naga for taking home medals during the 2019 National Carlos Palanca Jr. (CPJ) Taekwondo Championships held last February 9-10, held at SM Mall of Asia, Manila.
“Emmanuel Christopher Austria won Bronze Medal in PoomSae event; K Jarmen Kell G. Bonos, Silver in Kyorugi event; Baron Benedict Besmonte, Kenshin Rain G. Bonos, and Sandra Lerio, all Bronze medalists in Kyorugi event also, with the help of their coaches, Mr. Efren Avestruz, Jr., and Raul R. Oas,” the city government said.
“The National CPJ Taekwondo Championships is one of the elite taekwondo tournament in the country,” it added.
Meanwhile, the city government also commended a student from Ateneo de Naga University Grade School for bringing home medal from an international math competition.
“Periel Matthew Panganiban, Grade VI pupil of Ateneo de Naga University Grade School, commended this morning by the City Government of Naga after achieving a Bronze Medal in the 15th International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) held in Zhuji, China, last September 28-October 4, 2018,” said the city government.
