Para sa political dynasty? Arthur Ventura hits proposal to divide Palawan province into three
Palawan gubernatorial candidate Arthur Ventura has scored the proposal to divide the province into three being pushed incumbent Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez.
Ventura, who served as Palawan vice governor, vehemently opposed the said plan, saying that it was done without general hearing or public information.
Ventura claimed that the said proposal aims to build a “political dynasty” in favor of the sitting governor.
“Maraming haka-haka, maraming kaisipan, maraming palaisipan, ang sinasabi ng karamihan — at maski na ako — ay unang-una ay palawigin ang political dynasty ng nakaupong Gobernnador ng aming lalawigan,” said Ventura when asked about the effects of Palawan’s division.
He said that he is advocating for united Palawan instead of dividing it into three provinces.
Meanwhile, the gubernatorial candidate also said that there were reports saying the ancestral domains of Indigenous Peoples in Palawan are being bought at a cheap price.
He also claimed that the purchase of some IP lands were made through “deceit.”
Ventura noted that these reports should be investigated and must be validated.
Ventura also alleged that there are reports saying that 80% of lands in Palawan now belong to current government.
Abante said it tried to get the side of Palawan governor Alvarez but he has yet to reply as of the press time.
