Sorsogon gubernatorial bet and outgoing senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero has discussed his plans for agriculture sector when he visited Irosin.
Escudero was joined by his runningmate Atty. Wowo Fortes in meeting with the residents and officials of two barangays in Irosin.
“Gubernatorial candidate Chiz Escudero and vice gubernatorial candidate Atty. Wowo Fortes met with the barangay officials of Buenavista and Carriedo in the Municipality of Irosin to discuss issues concerning agriculture,” Escudero’s office said.
“The standard-bearers of Team Sorsogon First explained their plans on investing in corporate farming,” it added.
The Senator’s office said that Irosin is the only “land-locked municipality” in Sorsogon.
“This geographical quirk, according to history, is one of the reasons why Irosin was among the last places in the country to be populated,” it said.
“Most of our ancestors preferred coastal areas because of its commercial and communication advantages,” it added.
Meanwgile, Escudero and Fortes also visited several barangays in Matnog to discuss their plans.
“The tandem visited Barangays Cabagahan, Lajong, Poropandan, Sta. Isabel, and Tugas and discussed their plans and programs on infrastructure, fisheries, health, and education,” Escudero’s office said.
