50 e-trikes distributed to Municipality of Brooke’s Point
The Department of Energy, through the Palawan provincial government and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), has distributed 59 electric tricycles to the municipality of Brooke’s Point.
The distribution was held last Feb 28 at the municipality of Brooke’s Point attended by the representatives of the Capitol, GGGI, Energy department, local government of Brooke’s Point and Asian Development Bank.
“Ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan at GGGI ay naging abala sa pag-endorso ng proyekto at pangangasiwa ng aplikasyon ng naturang bayan para maging kauna-unahang munisipyo sa rehiyong MIMAROPA na mapagkalooban ng naturang proyekto,” the Capitol said.
Mayor Mary Jean Feliciano, DOE Usec.Donato Marcos and Board Member Eduardo Modesto Rodriguez spearheaded the motorcade featuring thr 50 e-trikes around Poblacion, Brooke’s Point.
“Sa mensahe ni BM Rodriguez, ibinida niya ang pagusumikap ng bayan ng Brooke’s Point na maging ‘ecological diversity capital of Palawan’ at maging modelo at responsable sa pangangalaga ng kalikasan,” the province said.
“Ang naturang E-Trikes ay inaasahang magbibigay ng positibong kontribusyon sa isyu ng climate change at makatutulong upang mabawasan ang carbon emissions,” it added.
Brooke’s Point was chosen as the demonstration site for the launching of “Green City Development Approach,” said the Capitol.
