Daraga Mayor Baldo presides over regular execom meeting

Daraga Mayor Carlwyn “Awin” Baldo has led the regular execom clustered meeting yesterday at the Mayor’s Office.

Baldo said that Brgy. Malabog was recognized by the Environment department for its compliance with the Solid Waste Enforcement and Education Program.

“We are proud to announce that Brgy. Malabog, in compliance to the Solid Waste Enforcement and Education Program (SWEEP), has been recognized by DENR as a potential Model Barangay; this is part of the initiative of LGU-Daraga in promoting an environment-friendly community,” Baldo said.

He also added that the municipal government has so far collected P154,000 from business establishments as fees for seminars.

“Also, as of January-February 2019, we have already garnered from various business establishments a total of Php154,000 from fees derived from attendance to seminars regarding environmental laws compared to last year’s Php100,000,” the mayor said.

“[T]his is relative to 3 objectives of my 7-point agenda including the promotion and protection of our environment, intensification of revenue, and most importantly, delivery of basic services to the people,” he added.

Meanwhile, Baldo also said the DCOMC is “almost ready” for transfer to the students.

“Moreover, in our commitment in providing the youth quality education, DCOMC is almost ready for the transfer of their students from Daraga Campus to DCOMC Salvacion Campus, Brgy. Salvacion, Daraga, Albay,” he said.

“Total completion of the said establishment is on June or July this year; as of this posting, 27 rooms are ready to accommodate our students,” he added.
