Palawan Capitol starts accepting applicants for Chinese scholarship grant
The Palawan Capitol has started accepting applicants for those who want to pursue studies at the Hainan Normal University in China.
The Capitol started the qualifying examinations at the PSU Narra Campus and PSU Roxas Campus last Feb. 27 and 28.
Those who will qualify will compose the second batch of scholars pursuant to the agreement between Hainan Province and province of Palawan
Under the agreement, 10 scholarship grants will be given to qualified Palaweños every year starting 2018 to 2022.
“Ang scholarship ay para sa Bachelor’s Degree at graduate programs para sa Masteral at Doctor of Philosophy degrees,” the province said.
“Ang mga kwalipikadong aplikante ay dapat mag-aral ng isang taong aralin na ipadadala sa mga aplikante mula sa Hainan Normal University at magsasagawa ng Chinese Proficiency Test bago sila pormal na matanggap sa naturang programa,” it added.
For applicants for bachelor degree, they need to finish their high school under the K-12 curriculum and not older than 25.
“Ang aplikante sa master’s degree ay dapat mayroong bachelor’s degree at edad na mas mababa sa 35. Ang mga aplikante naman sa PhD program ay dapat nakakumpleto ng isang bachelor’s degree at isang masteral degree, at edad na mas mababa sa 40,” the province said.
“Ang mga aplikante para sa bachelor’s degree at master’s program ay maaaring makapili ng kurso na kinabibilanagn ng sumusunod; international education, broadcasting & television, liberal arts, economics & management, information science & technology, physics & electronic engineering, chemistry & chemical engineering, tourism, elementary education, mathematics & statistics, physical education, education & psychology and fine arts. Ang mga aplikante sa PhD program ay maaaring ituloy ang kanilang pagkadalubhasa sa larangan ng chemistry at chemical engineering and life sciences,” it added.
Another qualifying exam is slated on Monday, March 3 at the VJR Hall, Capitol Complex, Puerto Princesa City.
