Palawan gov’t lauds student-athletes who bagged medals at MIMAROPA athletic meet
The Palawan provincial government has lauded the gallant efforts of its athletes who took home medals during the recently concluded MIMAROPA Regional Athletic Association Meet 2019.
The said regional sports meet was held in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
The Palawan contingent bagged 32 gold, 36 silver, and 59 bronze in secondary lever while it nabbed 22 gold, 24 silver and 32 bronze medals in elementary division.
The province’s Provincial Sports Division said that they continue to provide assistance to the young athletes of Palawan.
“We provided assistance noong send-off nung papunta sila ng Sablayan. During the training and preparation nag assist din tayo doon sa Narra, kung saan naka-quarter ang mga atleta,” said Francis Nemenzo from the Provincial Sports Division.
Puerto Princesa delegates topped the secondary level with 77 golds, followeed by Oriental Mindoro with 35 golds. Palawan finished third with 32 golds.
In elementary division, Oriental Mindoro bagged 48 golds, followed by Puerto Princesa with 26 golds. Occidental Mindoro was third with 26 golds. Palawan finished fourth with 22 golds.
“Ang delegasyon mula sa Palawan ay binubuo ng 447 na mga atleta at sports officials na nakibahagi sa pang-rehiyong palaro na ginanap noong Pebrero 17-21, 2019,” the province said.
Samantala, kasalukuyang isinasagawa ang pagpili ng mga atleta na kakatawan sa rehiyong MIMAROPA sa darating na Palarong Pambansa na gaganapin sa Davao City.
