Palawan touts agribusiness sector, infra programs during BIMP-EAGA strategic planning
The Palawam Provincial Government has participated on the strategic planning of the Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines-East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).
The said 2019 Strategic Planning Meeting was held last Feb 12 to 15 at the Hilton Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
The participants primarily discussed the means to improve the tourism sector and trade and investment in the member-countries through infrastructure programs as well as the proper use of natural resources.
“Ang Strategic Planning Meeting ay isinasagawa upang mailatag ng mga bansang kaanib sa samahan ang iba’t ibang estratehiya para mapalakas ang tinaguriang sub-region’s five pillars kabilang ang connectivity, food basket, environment, turismo at edukasyon,” the Palawan provincial government said.
The Palawan representatives during the strategic meeting laid down the initiatives of the province to bolster its agricultural business sector.
They also presented the ongoing infrastructure projects such as airports, roads, ports, and bridges.
“Samantala, kabilang sa BIMP-EAGA Vision 2025 ang pagtatatag ng mga bagong air at sea links, cross-border power interconnection, renewable energy development, agribusiness development, socio-cultural exchange at green cities development,” said the province.
