Gov. Mendiola welcomes Presidential Adviser for Southern Tagalog in Occidental Mindoro
Occidental Mindoro Governor Gene J. Mendiola has welcomed Presidential Adviser for Southern Tagalog Secretary Jose Maria Nicomedes F. Hernandez to the province recently to check the areas that experienced flooding last year.
OCD MIMAROPA Dir. Gen. Ruben Carandang(ret) and DENR-Regional Director MIMAROPA Atty.Michael Drake Matias were likewise in attendance.
The officials conducted “aerial survey to the areas heavily affected by flooding in 2018 and see by themselves the status of river basins through out the Province of Occidental Mindoro.”
Secretary Hernandez assured the local government officials that President Rodrigo Duterte will address the needs of Occidental Mindoro.
“Nais iparating sa inyo ni Pangulong Duterte ang kanyang pagmamahal sa Occidental Mindoro at tutugunan ang kahilingan ng inyong Gobernador sa pag sasaayos ng ating mga ilog at tamang daanan ng tubig upang hindi na maulit pa ang nakalipas na pagbaha sa Occidental at Oriental Mindoro,” Hernandez was quoted sa saying.
“[I]sa pa suportado ni Gobernador Mendiola ang mahal na Pangulong Duterte kaya kami ay naririto at ipinararating ang pagmamahal ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa mga taga Occidental Mindoro,” he added.
Also in attendance during the meeting were were Mayor Angelina Lyn Tria of Mamburao, and Vice-Governor Peter Alfaro.
