Palawan board member zeroes in on high professional fees of medical practitioners

A Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) member has turned his attention over the high professional fees of medical practitioners.

BM Eduardo Modesto recently delivered a speech expressing his concern over these fees which, according to him, make it hard for patients to afford medical services.

Rodriguez noted that while PhilHealth shoulders some of the fees, there are times that it is enough.

Rodriguez quipped.

Rodriguez, chairman ng Committee on Health and Social Services, proposed to summon the heads of PHILHEALTH, PCSO, Department of Health, Ospital ng Palawan, Private Hospitals, Philippine Medical Association and Chief ng Southern Palawan Hospital to explain the matter.

“Inanyayahan din ang Bureau of Internal Revenue upang malaman kung nagbabayad ng tamang buwis ang mga doktor,” the province said.
