Albay Gov. Bichara leads groundbreaking of Rehabilitation Center for Youth in Oas
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara spearheaded the groundbreaking of the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) in Albay yesterday.
The Capitol’s Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in partnership with Department of Social Welfare and Development – Region V patnered to make the event possible.
Bichara earlier said that he allocated budget to push through with the youth campsite located in Ligao City having complete amenities and facilities for youth development activities.
“We are trying to put everything in proper places for the youth especially for the boys,” Bichara was quoted as saying.
The said rehabilitation center has a 150 bed capacity.
Eva Grageda of PSWDO said that 50 patients will be from the RRCY Sorsogon.
“All of the services and resources will be provided by the Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) to reform and help the boys rise and rehabilitate themselves again,” the province said.
Gov. Bichara, meanwhile, acknowledged the DSWD V for the help and support to achieve to the project.
“There are bad boys na naging maray na leaders. It doesn’t mean pag bad boy ka, bad boy kana for life. Dae ta pabayaan ang satung mga kaakian, they still have time to reform and we can develop them to be productive citizens of the republic,” said Bichara during his speech.
