Sakto naman sa kampanya! Lray Villafuerte to serve 90-day suspension
Camarines Sur Representative Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr. has been ordered suspended from office for 90-days over the graft case he is facing concerning the alleged anomalous fuel purchases in 2010.
The Sandiganbayan 4th Division issued the suspension order as it ruled that the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act provides that all incumbent public officials are subject to preventive suspension.
Meanwhile, Villafuerte has decided not to oppose the ruling and voluntarily submitted himself under voluntary suspension which took effect last February 11 and will end on May 12.
The case stemmed from the purchase of fuel from Naga Fuel Express which amounted to a total of P20 million when Villafuerte was a governor of the province.
However, the purchases allegedly did not undergo the required public bidding.
