Albay Gov. Bicahara leads opening of newly repaired Ziga Memorial District Hospital in Tabaco City
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara spearheaded the opening of the newly renovated Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial District Hospital in Tabaco City yesterday.
The hospital now houses a Dialysis Center and its bed capacity has been increased.
In his message, Governor Bichara lauded the efforts of all those who have contributed in the construction of the new Dialysis Center, and the rehabilitation of the old hospital building.
“We now have world-class facilities, even better than private hospitals, we are now also building a new medical center here and in the future, there will be a good number of doctors working there to offer free services, we are going for quality, and not just compliance,” Bichara was quoted as saying.
Bichara also recognized the efforts of Albay 1st District Rep. Edcel lagman in finding the resources to upgrade the Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial District Hospital from a 50-bed hospital to a 250-bed facility.
Meanwhile, new dialysis center can accommodate 10 patients at the same time with 10 dialysis machines
“We want to give comfort as well to our patients, we will give them easily accessible medical care while also giving focus to their well-being,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, aside from the new developments in the Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial District Hospital, Bichara also touted the construction of the new provincial hospital in Ligao City.
He said that he hopes for a fast completion so that it can serve the Albayanos at the soonest time possible.
“The old Provincial Hospital, the BRTTH, is now under the national government, we need a new provincial hospital, and fortunately, with the assistance of PhilHealth and the Universal Health Care Act, we can now afford to create a new Provincial Hospital. This means that we can serve more people daily, and those from that area won’t need to come to BRTTH anymore,” Bichara stated.
