Albay Rep. Joey Salceda calls for hometown honor for national artist Larry Alcala

Larry Alcala is the first cartoonist and illustrator to be named national artist, and Albay Rep. Joey Salceda wants his own hometown to pay tribute to him.

In a Facebook post, Salceda said Alcala is a native of Daraga and its local council should honor him with a resolution and ceremonies.

This way, his family and relatives could feel Daraga’s gratitude for him and pride in his many accomplishments.

There’s nothing like hometown love!

“The first Albay-born National Artist. A native of Daraga. The Daraga Sanggunian should honor him with resolution and ceremonies where his family and relatives can feel our gratitude and pride. Victor Perete Jungie Jaucian Abdon M. Balde Jr.,” Salceda posted.
