Another Calapan City barangay gets ‘drug-cleared’ status

Another barangay in Calapan City has been declared drug-free after passing the standards set by the Philippine National Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and religious groups.

The Barangay Bondoc was declared by PDEA as “drug-cleared” barangay yesterday.

“Dahil sa masusing pagsisiyasat, pag momonitor at pagkalap ng impormasyon, nakapasa sa mga pamantayan ng PNP, PDEA, Religious Group at iba pang samahan ang Barangay Bondoc sa Lungsod ng Calapan para maideklarang Drug Cleared Barangay,” the city government of Calapan said.

Chairman Richard Abenes said that the coordination of everyone is important to maintain the drug-free status that they received.

“Ayon sa representate ng PDEA, kailangan ay sama-samang pagtulungan para mapanatiling drug cleared ang naturang barangay. Mahalaga na mailigtas ang barangay sa iligal na droga sapagkat sila rin ang makikinabang dito,” the city government said.

Meanwhile, Calapan City Chief of Police PSupt Efraim Camara told the residents to report to them that if there are people acting suspiciously.

Meanwhile, a total 20 barangays in Calapan have achieved a “drug-cleared” status.
