Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali is optimistic that the power woes of his province will soon be solved once the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill becomes a law.

The Senate and the House of Representatives have reconciled the differences of their versions of the bill in a bicameral conference.

Umali was part of the House contingent to the said bicam committee.

The bill highlights the role of local government units in the implementation of the measure for it to become successful.

Umali said that it’s not just the Oriental Mindoro that will benefit from the measure but the whole country as well.

“Tinitiyak kong malaki ang magiging pakinabang nito hindi lang sa lalawigan ng Oriental Mindoro, kundi pati na rin sa buong Pilipinas,” the solon said.
