Six Palaweño senior citizens get financial incentive from national, provincial gov’ts

Six centenarians in Palawan have received financial incentive from the national government and the Capitol.
Helen G. Bundal, population program officer II from Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), said that the six centenarian recevied P100,000 each from the national government, through the DSWD.
“Bukod sa naturang insentibo ay tumanggap din ng tig-P10,000 ang bawat centenarian mula sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na ipinamahagi nitong huling bahagi ng taong 2018 hanggang ngayong buwang kasalukuyan,” said the provincial government.
The beneficiaries were: Estrella Batiancila, 107 years old from El Nido; Patricio Panez, 100 years old from Roxas; Teodoro Papa, 101; Aurelea Cuyao, 105; Rebecca Butac, 101; and Josefina Bajet, 101 from Narra town.
Bundal also said that the centenarians will continue to receive P2,000 during their birthdays.
“Napag-alaman rin mula kay Gng. Bundal na ang naitalang mga centenarian ay dumaan sa pagtatasa mula sa DSWD Regional office-MIMAROPA katuwang ang pamahalaang lokal ng munisipyo at Office of the Senior Citizen (OSCA),” the province said.
The financial incentives to senior citizens is pursuant to Republic Act 10868 or “An act honoring and granting additional benefits and privileges to Filipino centenarian.”
“Hinihikayat naman ni Gng. Bundal ang lahat ng Palaweñong may kaanak na nag-eedad 100 taong gulang pataas na agad na makipag-ugnayan sa OSCA at Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) at isumite ang mga dokumentong kinakailangan tulad ng birth certificate, baptismal certificate, OSCA ID, Affidavit of at least 80 disinterested persons (friends/relatives who are known to the centenarian), at marriage contract upang maisama sa mabebenepisyuhan,” said the province.
